About Me

I’m 30-something. I can still pass for 20-something. I’m very persnickety. I still miss the dog I had when I was 15. I eat like a goldfish. If it’s in front of me, it’s as good as gone. I hate texting. I like email. I hate walking. I like running. I dress like a college kid for work to save my fun clothes for going out. I rarely go out. My excuse is, I’m not dressed for that place.

I started this blog as “30 Days of Me-time,” and then it grew to 60 days, then 90 days, and so on. Soon, I realized this isn’t a practice test, it’s my life practice. And I’m okay with that.

Favorite Movies

I have always loved “About Last Night.” It’s cheesy. It’s 80s. And it makes me cry every time. I’m not kidding. “Hiroshima Mon Amour” is beautiful on so many levels.

Favorite Music

Street music. The kind that wafts in the air of a place I’m just discovering. Songs with lyrics that keep you company in the dark.

I hate Cats but I love Phantom. I snickered when an old boyfriend wanted to bring me to a Celine Dion concert but I loved it. I ripped music from my 14-year old niece. I am too lazy to download new mp3s so I listen to the same songs over and over and over…

Favorite Books

I like anything by F. Scott Fitzgerald. I like the fact that he uses an intial for his first name not his middle one. I’m starting to read more Paul Auster. And David Foster Wallace’s “Infinite Jest” is on my list. Also like: The Sorrows of Young Werther, The End of the Affair and The Age of Innocence. These are not related.
